What is the Up to 3X Promotion?

IHG One Rewards members who register for the Up to 3X Promotion can earn IHG One Rewards bonus points based on the number of qualifying stays they have during the Promotion Period. Members who register for the Promotion will earn double bonus points on their second qualifying stay and triple bonus points on their third qualifying stay and each stay thereafter throughout the Promotion Period. How do I know if I am eligible for the Up to 3X Promotion?

This promotion is available to all IHG One Rewards members with an active, valid account.  

When does the Up to 3X Promotion begin and end?

The Pre-Registration Period for IHG One Rewards members begins on 16 September 2025 and ends on 30 September 2025. Members can pre-register for this promotion during this Pre-Registration Period.   

Members who did not pre-register can also register during the Promotion Period, beginning 1 October 2025 and ending 31 December 2025.

How many points can I expect when participating in the Up to 3X promotion?

For the Up to 3X Promotion, earning ‘2X’ or ‘2X points’ on your second qualifying stay until 31 December 2025 means the total number of regular ‘base points’ and promotional ‘bonus points’ combined will equal two (2) times the base points the member would normally receive just for being an IHG One Rewards member. For example, for a one-night Qualifying Stay with a room rate of $100.00 USD at an IHG hotel with an earn rate of 10 points per USD for base points, the member would earn 1,000 base points (10 points x $100 USD = 1,000 points) and an additional 1,000 promotional bonus points, for a total of 2,000 points. 

Earning ‘3X’ or ‘3X points’ on your third qualifying stay and each stay thereafter until 31 December 2025 means the total number of regular ‘base points’ and promotional ‘bonus points’ combined will equal three (3) times the base points the member would normally receive just for being an IHG One Rewards member. For example, for a one-night Qualifying Stay with a room rate of $100.00 USD at an IHG hotel with an earn rate of 10 points per USD for base points, the member would earn 1,000 base points (10 points x $100 USD = 1,000 points) and an additional 2,000 promotional bonus points, for a total of 3,000 points.

Bonus points earned through this Promotion are not Elite status qualifying under the IHG One Rewards programme. For instance, in the first example above, the 1,000 base points would qualify for Elite status, while the additional 1,000 promotional bonus points would not. In the second example, the 1,000 base points would qualify for Elite status, while the additional 2,000 bonus points would not.

Is there a limit set for the number of bonus points or stays a member can earn during the Promotion Period?

After registering for the Promotion, a member can earn 2X bonus points beginning on their second qualifying stay and 3X bonus points beginning on their third qualifying stay and each qualifying stay thereafter, for a maximum of 70,000 bonus points total during the promotion period.  

How will the Points be awarded for the Up to 3X promotion for Elite status members?

Promotional bonus points under the Up to 3X promotion will be awarded based on the number of base points the member is eligible to receive for each qualifying night under the Promotion as described in the preceding FAQ, whether the member is an Elite status member or not. 

For Elite members, the Elite bonus is determined separately using only the base points earned on the stay and does not include any promotional bonus points from the Up to 3X promotion.

What is a Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay for purposes of this Promotion?

For purposes of the Promotion, a ‘Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay’ is defined as a minimum one (1) night stay at a participating hotel booked under a Qualifying Rate, with total spend exceeding US $30 (or local currency equivalent) for each night. 

Stays booked using Rewards Nights or Points & Cash, and bookings made through online travel agencies or other reservation sites such as booking.com or expedia.com, are not Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stays for the purposes of this Promotion.

If more than one member who registered for the Promotion checks into the same room, only one member is eligible to earn points under the Promotion for those nights that qualify. If a member books more than one room on the same night, the member will receive credit towards this Promotion for only one of the rooms that also meets the requirements of a qualifying room night under the Promotion.

What is considered a Qualifying Rate?

Qualifying Rates include most business and leisure rates, such as Advanced Purchase rates, Best Flexible rates, Global sales negotiated rates (including but not limited to Corporate Gold rates), national/regional/local government rates, and specified leisure rates as confirmed by IHG’s reservation systems. In Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Greater China hotels and resorts, Qualifying Rates include all locally negotiated rates. How can the bonus points earned under the Promotion be used?

The points earned during the Up to 3X Promotion can be used toward Reward Nights, redeemed for merchandise, or used for other redemption opportunities, as permitted under the IHG One Rewards programme. 

On-property IHG One Rewards benefits are generally available at all IHG® Hotels & Resorts and other partner hotels participating in the IHG One Rewards programme, with exceptions for the following brands:

Six Senses® Hotels Resorts Spas: IHG One Rewards Points may be earned or redeemed for stays but other benefits may not be available. (Note that some hotels do not participate in IHG One Rewards.)  

Iberostar Beachfront Resorts: Members can now earn and redeem IHG One Rewards Points for Reward Nights at participating Iberostar Beachfront Resorts. (The portfolio of Iberostar Beachfront Resorts excludes any interests in Cuba.)

To participate in the ‘Up to 3X’ Promotion (the ‘Promotion’), an individual must have an active, valid IHG One Rewards member account and must register for the Promotion.

Members can pre-register for this Promotion starting 16 September 2025 until 30 September 2025 (the ‘Pre-Registration Period’).

Members will be able to stay and earn IHG One Rewards bonus points under this Promotion beginning on 1 October 2025 and ending on 31 December 2025 (the ‘Promotion Period’).

Members who did not register during the Pre-Registration Period may register for the Promotion during the Promotion Period.

A member can only register once.

By registering for the Promotion, a member accepts these terms and conditions.

After registering for the Promotion, a member can earn 2X bonus points beginning on their second qualifying stay and 3X bonus points beginning on their third qualifying stay and each qualifying stay thereafter, for a maximum of 70,000 bonus points total during the promotion period.

For the purposes of this Promotion, a ‘Qualifying Stay’ is defined as:

As stated, the ‘Promotion Period’ is from 1 October 2025 until 31 December 2025.

Room nights outside of the Promotion Period are not included.

Room nights that are part of a stay that was completed prior to registration for the Promotion are also not included.

Stays booked using Rewards Nights or Points + Cash are not Promotion-Eligible Qualifying Stays.

Bookings made through online travel agencies, such as booking.com or expedia.com, also do not qualify.

If more than one member who registered for the Promotion checks into the same room, only one member is eligible to earn points.

If a member books more than one room on the same night, the member will receive credit for only one room that meets the requirements.

For the Up to 3X Promotion:

Earning ‘2X’ points on your second qualifying stay before 31 December 2025 means:

• total points = 2 × base points

Example:

• room rate: $100 USD
• earn rate: 10 points per USD
• earn: 1,000 base points
• plus 1,000 promotional bonus points
• total = 2,000 points

Earning ‘3X’ points on your third qualifying stay and each stay thereafter until 31 December 2025 means:

• total points = 3 × base points

Example:

• room rate: $100 USD
• earn rate: 10 points per USD
• earn: 1,000 base points
• plus 2,000 promotional bonus points
• total = 3,000 points

The promotional bonus points under this Promotion are calculated based solely on the base points.

Elite status bonus points or other promotional points are not included.

Bonus points earned are not Elite status qualifying.

Examples:

• 1,000 base points qualify for Elite status
• 1,000 / 2,000 promotional bonus points do not qualify

A member’s participation in the IHG One Rewards programme and this Promotion is subject to the standard IHG One Rewards Membership Terms and Conditions, which can be obtained here or by visiting ihgonerewards.com.

IHG may withdraw points if deposited in error.

IHG may revoke all points if there is abuse of the programme, including abuse of the point redemption process.

IHG reserves the right to:

• remove a member’s points
• downgrade their status
• cancel their account
  if fraudulent activity is detected.

Any fraudulent or prohibited activity is subject to the IHG One Rewards Membership Terms and Conditions.

To the extent permitted by law:

• IHG’s interpretation of the Promotion controls
• IHG may cancel, suspend and/or modify the Promotion

This Promotion is valid only for eligible and registered members.

Eligibility or participation cannot be transferred.
