What is the 2X Unlimited Promotion?

IHG One Rewards members who register for the 2X Unlimited Promotion can earn IHG One Rewards bonus points based on the number of qualifying stays they have during the Promotion Period. Members who register for the Promotion will earn double bonus points on their second qualifying stay and each stay thereafter throughout the Promotion Period. How do I know if I am eligible for the 2X Unlimited Promotion?

This promotion is available to all IHG One Rewards members with an active, valid account.  

When does the 2X Unlimited Promotion begin and end?

The Pre-Registration Period for IHG One Rewards members begins on December 9, 2025, and ends on December 31, 2025. Members can pre-register for this promotion during this Pre-Registration Period. 

Members will be able to stay and earn IHG One Rewards bonus points under this Promotion beginning January 1, 2026 and ending on March 31, 2026 (the “Promotion Period”). Members who did not register during the PreRegistration Period may register for the Promotion during the Promotion Period.

How many points can I expect when participating in the 2X Unlimited Promotion?

For the 2X Unlimited Promotion, earning “2X” or “2X” bonus points starting on your second qualifying stay and every stay thereafter through March 31, 2026 means the total number of regular “base points” and promotional “bonus points” combined will equal two (2) times the base points the member would normally receive just for being an IHG One Rewards member.

For example, for a one-night Qualifying Stay with a room rate of $100.00 at an IHG hotel with a 10 points per USD earn rate for base points, the member would earn 1,000 base points (10 points x $100 = 1,000 points) and an additional 1,000 promotional bonus points, for a total of 2,000 points. The promotional bonus points under this Promotion are calculated based solely on the base points the member is eligible to earn for a Qualifying Stay just for being an IHG One Rewards member, and any Elite status bonus points or any other bonus or promotional points the member may be eligible to receive for the same stay are not included.

Bonus points earned through this Promotion are not Elite status qualifying under the IHG One Rewards program. For instance, in the example above, the 1,000 base points would qualify for Elite status, while the additional 1,000 promotional points would not. 

Is there a limit set for the number of bonus points or stays a member can earn during the Promotion Period?

No, there is no limit set for the number of bonus points a member can earn. A member can earn points under the Promotion throughout the Promotion Period when they complete two or more Qualifying Stays during the promotion period.

How will the Points be awarded for the 2X Unlimited Promotion for Elite status members?

Promotional bonus points under the 2X Unlimited Promotion will be awarded based on the number of base points the member is eligible to receive for each qualifying night under the Promotion as described in the preceding FAQ, whether the member is an Elite status member or not.

For Elite members, the Elite bonus is determined separately using only the base points earned on the stay and does not include any promotional bonus points from the 2X Unlimited Promotion.

What is a Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay for purposes of this Promotion?

For purposes of the Promotion, a “Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay” is defined as a minimum one (1) night stay at a participating hotel booked under a Qualifying Rate, with total spend exceeding US $30 (or local currency equivalent) for each night.

Participating hotels include all IHG® Hotels & Resorts, with the exception of any Six Senses® Hotels Resorts Spas and Iberostar Beachfront Resorts that do not participate in IHG One Rewards.

Stays booked using Rewards Nights or Points & Cash, and bookings made through on-line travel agencies or other reservation sites such as booking.com or expedia.com, are not Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stays for purposes of this Promotion.

If more than one member who registered for the Promotion checks into the same room, only one member is eligible to earn points under the Promotion for those nights that qualify. If a member books more than one room on the same night, the member will receive credit towards this Promotion for only one of the rooms even if that additional room also meets the requirements of a qualifying room night under the Promotion.

What is considered a Qualifying Rate?

Qualifying Rates include most business and leisure rates, such as Advanced Purchase rates, Best Flexible rates, Global sales negotiated rates (including but not limited to Corporate Gold rates), national/regional/local government rates, and specified leisure rates as confirmed by IHG’s reservation systems. In Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Greater China hotels and resorts, Qualifying Rates include all locally negotiated rates. How can the bonus points earned under the Promotion be used?

The points earned during the 2X Unlimited Promotion can be used toward Reward Nights, can be redeemed for merchandise, or can be used for other redemption opportunities, as permitted under the IHG One Rewards program.

On-property IHG One Rewards benefits are generally available at all IHG® Hotels & Resorts and other partner hotels participating in the IHG One Rewards program, with exceptions for the following brands:

Six Senses® Hotels Resorts Spas: IHG One Rewards points may be earned or redeemed for stays but other benefits may not be available. (Note that some hotels do not participate in IHG One Rewards.)

Iberostar Beachfront Resorts: Members can now earn and redeem IHG One Rewards points for Reward Nights at participating Iberostar Beachfront Resorts. (The portfolio of Iberostar Beachfront Resorts excludes any interests in Cuba.)
